15 years of the
National Arts Center
From
November 23 to 29 commemorative activities will take place to celebrate the
emergence of the ANC. As an inaugural activity a postage stamp with the image
of the Palace of Fine Arts was printed.
This
stamp acknowledges the work of the ANC and therefore, it will travel the world
as proof of the spirit of brotherhood within the arts, which the center has
been teaching for the past three decades, said the head of the institution,
Roberto Vázquez in brief ceremony at the auditorium Jose Vasconcelos of the
cultural complex Rio Churubusco, on the corner of Calzada de Tlalpan.
As
part of the celebration, there will also be concerts, dance and theater. On the
Internet ANC states that the program will commence on November 23 with a
concert by the Symphony Orchestra of the School of Music under the direction of
Enrique Diemecke, with music by Beethoven and Handel, at 6pm. Horacio Franco
will also be presented and Cappella Cervantes, the Brodsky Quartet of England,
Cesar Olguin and the Mexican Tango Orchestra, a gala Italian and French opera,
a gathering of Mexican salsa and the concert Ellos se pintan solos, in addition
to Arturo Sandoval Sextet.
In
the Raúl Flores Canelo theater, the International Company will present
Gajuca-Butoh Saints on the sidewalks and the staging of La Bayadère, with
undergraduate students in ballet, while 23 and 25 round tables will be done on
research and artistic education in academic retrospect of the 15 years since
the creation of the ANC.
