Cozumel
tops the cruiseship market
Despite
an 18% decrease in receiving cruiseships and transatlantics between the months
of August and September, the Port of Cozumel, Quintana Roo remains the most
solicited in this type of tourism vessels that bring important revenue to the
state, informed the Ministry of Communications & Transportations Port &
Marine Merchantile General Division.
During
this brief summary, the dependency also notified of the figures from different
ports from the Pacific Coast, such as Cabo San Lucas in Baja California Sur
which reported 297 arrivals and went down to 179; Ensenada came close with a
starting 219 and decreased to 139 and in third place was Puerto Vallarta,
Jalisco which in August received 184 cruiseships and reported a 34% loss, at
114 arrivals.
