The First
Traditional Mexican Son Festival "El Fandango Aca", will take place in Mexico
City on December 5th and 6th, with the objective of
creating new audiences and ties between the spectators and the artists of
Mexico?s traditional music. According to the organizers, this will be the first
time that a festival of this magnitude will be celebrated in the city.
The encounter
will count with the collaboration of FandangueArte A.C., the National Center
for the Arts (Cenart) and the National Trust Fund for Culture and Arts. According to the different regions, the son
acquires a specific name and style in its interpretation.
Those who
assist will be able to enjoy three fandangos each day, in three different
stages inside the green areas of the Cenart, where groups and singers from six
of the most representative regions of the country will perform.
