Paintings Exhibit taking place in Singapur
Mexican President Felipe Calderon?s wife, Margarita Zavala,
recently inaugurated the exhibition "The Road to Modernity ", where
mexican painters work of art is being exposed.
The show is made up of artworks by mexican painters Saturnino
Herrán, Francisco Goitia, Angel Zarraga, Frida Kahlo, Maria Izquierdo, Diego
Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros & José Clemente Orozco, among others.
At Singapur?s Museum of Art, Mexico?s First Lady commented that
one of the best ways to learn about a foreign culture is by appreciating its?
art and esthetics because this lets us understand the differences between
cultures and civilizations.
She explained that the art show consists of a series of works by
artists born between the end of the XIX Century and beginning of the XX
Century, but were consolidated as painters when Mexico was headed to modernity,
in the years previous to the Mexican Revolution in 1910.
