Festival to take place in Guanajuato
The
Civil Association of Composers and Performers of Guanajuato (CEGAC) announced
that the first Music, Echoes & Sounds Festival will take place in the
states? capital on November 17th and will run thru November 21st.
Musician
Carlos Vidaurri Aréchiga, indicated that the Festival will be dedicated to the
memory of Héctor Quintanar, an outstanding figure in Mexico?s music community
and in the rest of the world because of his composition work as well as
orchestra director and pedagogue.
The
Festival will focus on transmiting the city of Guanajuato?s work in artistical
music, from a composer?s & performer?s point of view.
This
event has international appeal because of the wide variety of musical genres
programmed like: music from Italy, France, Germany, Holland & Spain as well
as the performers, who many are the city?s residents, are from 10 different
nationalities such as Checoslovaquian, Russian and Cuban.
Concerts
are free and will start on Tuesday in Guanajuato?s "Principal" Theater at 20:00
hrs., where a formal act will take place and give way to the concerts.
Wednesday?s, Thursday?s and Friday´s performances will take place in Auditorio
Minas and Saturday?s closing will be held once more at "Principal" Theater.
