Soccer World Cup in Mexico City
The 2010 Soccer World Cup South Africa will be televised
completely free in Mexico City. FIFA and Mexico City?s Government (GDF) have
come to an agreement so that world cup matches will be screened at the "Fan
Fest" Park, an enthusiast event, that will open in the capital.
The final agreement between the world soccer ministry and the
GDF was that 64 World Cup games will be transmitted, this package was granted
to Mexico City´s Tourism Ministry who will be in charge of the events?
organization.
The city center will be the original and most important meeting
point for "Fan Fest" although the Alameda Central and Chapultepec will serve as
alternate meeting points.
Mexico City will join international meeting points such as
Trocadero in Paris, the Tower Bridge in London, Copacabana Beach in Rio de
Janeiro, Circus Maximus in Rome, Sydney´s Darling Harbour and the Brandenburg
Door in Berlin for "Fan Fest´s" production out of South Africa, country which
will celebrate their own enthusiast festivities in the host cities where games
will take place.
