Visit
the Templo Mayor Museum and be inspired
The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) is
looking for new "tlacuilos" (the "tlacuilos" were in charge
of narrating the myths and posting Mexica rituals on manuscripts) willing to
tell the Mexicans of today and foreigners the greatness of the Mexica culture,
mythology, history, archeology and events of the Conquest and the Viceroyalty.
In this sense, the First National Contest for Children and Young
adult Storytelling of the Templo Mayor Museum opened, with two categories:
first, for students between 10 to 14 years of age, and the second for those 15
to 20 years old who will have until November 30th to submit an original,
unpublished short story written in Spanish to address some of these topics.
The INAH will publish the winning stories in an anthology that
is planned to come out during the first months of 2010; it will also be
illustrated by young Mexican graphic designers. The results will be announced
on December 10th through the website INAH www.inah.gob.mx. The award will be
made on the 18th of the same month in the Templo Mayor Museum.
